Laddu Samadhi Wandana, a GD5 student in the WISE program and a member of the Aqua and Soil Environmental Laboratory, participated in the 19th IWA World Conference on Anaerobic Digestion (AD 19), held in Valencia, Spain, from June 9 to 13, 2026.

She presented a poster entitled “Downflow Hanging Sponge–Immobilized Biochar (DHS-IBC) System: A Potential Enhanced Nutrient Removal System for Aquaculture Wastewater Treatment.” The study proposed a novel nitrogen removal system for recirculating aquaculture wastewater treatment. The results demonstrated enhanced nutrient removal through efficient nitrification and denitrification processes. The conference provided an opportunity to share research findings and exchange knowledge with international researchers working in the fields of water and environmental technologies.

卓越大学院プログラムGD5　LADDU SAMADHI WANDANAさん（山口研、スリランカ・スリジャヤワルダナプラ大学出身）が、2026年6月9日から13日までスペインのバレンシアで開催された第19回IWA世界嫌気性消化会議（AD 19）に参加しました

彼女は「ダウンフロー式吊り下げスポンジ・固定化バイオチャール（DHS-IBC）システム：水産養殖排水処理のための潜在的な高効率栄養塩除去システム」と題したポスター発表しました。本研究では、循環式養殖排水処理のための新しい窒素除去システムを提案しました。その結果、効率的な硝化・脱窒プロセスを通じて、栄養塩の除去効率が向上することが実証されました。この会議では、水・環境技術の分野で活躍する国際的な研究者たちと研究成果を共有し、知識を交換する機会となりました。
